Participating in the DAAD-funded research cooperation in the framework of the thematic network “Literature – Knowledge – Media” are the following universities:

The cooperation comprises the following measures:
Each year the Humboldt-Universität hosts up to two doctoral and master’s students from each of the five American partner universities. Conversely, for the doctoral and master’s students of the Humboldt-Universität who are working on questions in the subject area of the thematic network, research stays of three to five months at the American partner universities are envisaged. All exchange students are exempted from tuition fees at the guest university, and have free access to archive and library resources, as well as to the special collections.
Each year, two male and two female researchers (at least post-doc) of the Humboldt-Universität have the chance to carry out intensive courses and guest lectures during a two-week research stay at one of the American partner universities. Conversely, each year, two male and female researchers (at least post-doc) of the American partner universities are invited to the Humboldt-Universität for two-week research and teaching activities.
In addition, each year, the Humboldt-Universität hosts one American researcher (at least post-doc) for a longer teaching and research stay of from three to five months.
